PES Institute of Technology
PES university has ranked 6th among the top 50 private universities by OUTLOOK India-ICARE rankings. Previous to 2013, it was known as PES Institute of Technology also known as PES College but post that it was given designation of a university. The university was established in 1972. Being an old establishment, it is focused on 5 peculiar disciplines such as Engineering, Law, Medicine, Management and Life science. As per the rules, it offers courses at bachelors, masters, Ph. D and even specialization courses.
Since the university is located in the urban area, the students have easy access to transportation. It can either be bus, railway or flight. The bus stop is at a distance of approx. 1.7 km from university. The railway reservation centre is 4 km away and international airport is 52 km away.

The admission process for the undergraduate programs occurs in two different modes
- Through common entrance test
- Through direct admission
For the postgraduate programs, the admission takes place through GATE or Karnataka PGCET or PESSAT
